Take them if you like them, and throw them out if you feel like they don't apply.

I'll start with what you do well...

1) Your architectural rendering in perspective is good... You draw buildings very well.

2) You make your characters come alive. The character in the right corner of the splash page is not stiff at all. His tie is sweeping around his body while he's turning his head around to look at the dragon with a look of fear on his face. I believe the term is contra posta. It's when you twist the body to give it a sense of movement. It is almost like your characters are acting. Anyways you have good motion and gesture.

3) As Shawn said in the previous post... your "control of lights and darks" are great, which makes for a balanced composition.

Now for the pointers...

1) The neck of the Dragon in the splash page looks like it is almost flat and bent in half. I would suggest that you use a curved cylinder shape to construct the neck next time.

2) On the first page, in the 1st panel, when Wolverine is running towards the tree, it looks like Wolverine is almost as big as the building on the left. It might be a good idea to scale the character down. Although I do see how that would be tough, considering the figure is already small.

Overall, I'd say you did a Fantastic job... keep up the good work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8826804444369433678.post-54868325288788357522011-10-29T13:49:49.238-04:002011-10-29T13:49:49.238-04:00Inspirational Wally.
